Cambodia Sets Stage for 11th Annual Macroeconomic Conference This December

Phnom Penh, April 1, 2024 – Marking a significant event in the Cambodian economic calendar, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has announced that the 11th Annual Macroeconomic Conference will take place on December 17, 2024. This year's theme, “Geoeconomic Fragmentation: Implications and Policies,” promises to address global economic shifts and their impact on local economies, in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The conference aims to foster a robust culture of research within Cambodia, offering a vital platform for dialogue among academics, industry experts, and stakeholders. The event is set to delve into pressing issues pertinent to Cambodia's economic development and the broader regional economic landscape.

In anticipation of the conference, the NBC has issued a call for research proposals related to this year’s theme. “We are eagerly accepting submissions from researchers who are exploring topics aligned with the conference's focus on geoeconomic fragmentation,” stated the NBC's announcement.

Contributors selected to present their papers will receive rewards for their contributions, with the added opportunity of having their work featured in the NBC's prestigious working paper series.

Researchers interested in participating are encouraged to submit their proposals to the Monetary Policy and Research Department at macroconfer@nbc.gov.kh by April 10. The announcement of the selected proposals is scheduled for April 20, setting the stage for a dynamic and insightful discourse on the future of Cambodia's and the global economy.
